Gastrointestinal Cancer
Gastrointestinal cancer affects organs in the digestive system, such as the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, and small and large intestines. Some symptoms include abdominal pain, appetite loss, and vomiting.
Anal Cancer
Anal cancer is cancer that forms in the cells that line your anus. There are about 7,000 new cases of anal cancer in the United States each year.
Appendix Cancer
The appendix is a small organ in the lower-right abdomen. It is approximately 4 inches long and is attached to the end of the large intestine.
Bile Duct Cancer
The bile duct is a thin tube that carries bile from the liver and gallbladder to the small intestine. Bile is a substance that helps the body digest food. Bile is made in the liver and stored in the gallbladder.
Colorectal Cancer
The term “colorectal cancer” refers to both colon cancer and rectal cancer. The colon and rectum are both parts of the large intestine.
Metastatic Colorectal Cancer
Metastatic colorectal cancer is colorectal cancer that has spread from its original location in the intestines to other parts of the body.
Esophageal Cancer
The esophagus is a long muscular tube that transports the food you swallow to the digestive system.
Gallbladder Cancer
Gallbladder cancer is cancer that starts in the gallbladder, which is a small, pear-shaped organ in the abdomen.
Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST)
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors or GIST are a form of connective tissue tumor that can start anywhere in the digestive tract.
Islet Cell Tumors of the Pancreas
Islet cell tumors are a rare type of pancreatic tumor that arise from the endocrine glands of the pancreas.
Liver Cancer
The liver is an organ whose primary functions include releasing bile into the intestines to aid in digestion, and removing toxic substances from the blood.
Liver Metastases
Secondary liver cancer occurs when a cancer that begins in another part of the body spreads (metastasizes) to the liver. Secondary liver cancer is actually more common than primary liver cancer.
Pancreatic Cancer
There are several types of pancreatic cancer, but the most common by far is adenocarcinoma.
Small Intestine Cancer
The small intestine is an organ in the digestive tract, located in between the stomach and the large intestine.
Stomach Cancer
Stomach cancer, also known as gastric cancer, starts in the stomach. About 90% to 95% of all stomach cancers are adenocarcinomas.
