Symptoms

The most common sign of cancers of the lip and oral cavity is a sore or ulcer that does not heal, and may cause pain or bleeding. Please contact your doctor if you experience any of the following symptoms:

White or red sores
White or red sores in the mouth, lips, gums, or tongue that do not heal. Sores in the mouth can take up to 2 weeks to heal naturally. Any new lesions or sores which carry beyond 2 weeks should be checked immediately.
A lump or mass in the mouth
