Symptoms

Many patients with an acute hepatitis B and C exposure have very few symptoms; however, any of the following symptoms may occur. If symptoms do occur, they may appear anywhere from a few weeks to a few months after exposure to the virus, and they may last anywhere from a few weeks to six months. Many patients with chronic viral hepatitis have no symptoms; however, people who have been infected for many years may develop serious liver complications as previously discussed.
