Questions to Ask the Doctor

It is important to have honest, open discussions with your doctors and nurses. Feel free to ask questions, even if they seem trivial. It is a good idea to write your questions down so you will remember to ask them during each appointment. Here are some important questions you may want to ask:

• How far has the cancer spread?
• Have you done biomarker testing on my tumor tissue?  Have you sent a liquid biopsy from my blood?
• What treatments do you recommend?
• What should I expect as I go through treatment?
• What are the side effects of the treatments?
• Will my activity be limited? Can I continue to work?
• What can I do to help my body fight the cancer?
• Is there anything else I need to know?
• What clinical trials are available?
