Staging

Staging is a process that tells a doctor if the cancer has spread, and if it has, how far. Staging for lymphoma depends on the number of enlarged lymph nodes, where the cancer is located in the body, and whether other parts of the body are involved. Staging is necessary to evaluate prognosis and treatment options. After staging, Hodgkin Lymphoma patients are further described as having A or B symptoms. The B symptoms are unexplained fevers, drenching night sweats or unexplained weight loss (10% of body weight).
